Eungella NP Trip on 20/11/14

Attention backpackers/ guests/ travellers in the Mackay Region: Two of my hostel guests are going to hire a car to go to the Eungella National Park. There are still two seats available if you interested in sharing costs and fun. They will probably go to Finch Hatton Gorge to swim in the waterfall and to Broken River to spot the shy platypus.   • Chill out by the Bluewater Lagoon on a hot summer’s day. Free entry is a bonus.
  • Explore the beauty of the Northern Beaches (e.g. Shoal Point, Bucasia, Eimeo, Blacks Beach).
  • Visit the Mackay Marina. It is truly a nice place to enjoy a cold drink or delicious meal. Highly recommended also for a Sunday sesh - enjoy life music and scenic harbour views.

  • There is plenty of things to do in the Mackay Region. Explore the for instance the picturesque Pioneer Valley and escape the hustle of the city. Finch Hatton Gorge with its tropical rainforest and waterfalls stands out with fresh-water swimming holes. The Eungella National Park offers great walking trails and Broken River gives you the unique opportunity  to spot the elusive platypus.

Love the sea? Then book a day trip to Keswick Island and go snorkelling, hire a kayak or buggy, go on a hike or do some whale-watching.

Kangaroos on the beach? Check out the Cape Hillsborough National Park, observe the wildlife, explore one of the walking trails, enjoy scenic ocean views and watch kangaroos on the beach.
